Just like Saint Patrick's Day is for Irish-themed pubs and restaurants, Cinco de Mayo is the Holy Grail for Mexican restaurants.  It is one of those holidays where EVERYONE gets into the spirit.

Sadly, we're getting word that one of the most popular Mexican restaurants in Central Maine, and one of our favorites, has been forced to temporarily close.

A post on the Facebook for the popular restaurant, which is located at Marketplace at Augusta, announced that they would have to close for the day.

The post goes on to say:

It is extremely important your health and satisfaction to us and for that reason we’re closing until further notice. We can’t wait to serve you guys once again!

The post did not explain exactly why they were going to be closed.

Our hope is that this closure is VERY temporary.  We love Victor and his team at El Agave's and we are big fans of the food they serve.

Once they re-open, we hope that you have the opportunity to have a meal there, or at least stop by for a few drinks.  They serve up some amazing food and drinks.  Personally, my favorite is the chipotle burrito.  It pairs really well with one of their signature Cushnoc Guzman Lagers.
