Rocketman, the musical motion picture chronicling the life of Elton John, will be released as a digital download on Aug. 6, with Blu-ray and DVD releases following on Aug. 27.

Both versions of the movie will come with a bevy of unique bonus material, including 10 deleted and extended scenes, four extended musical sequences and sing-along tracks for 13 of the songs.

Behind-the-scenes footage featuring interviews with John, the cast and filmmakers will also come with the release. Plus, fans can enjoy a new jukebox feature that allows viewers to skip directly to the film’s musical numbers.

Rocketman premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, before being released theatrically in the U.S. two weeks later. The film received praise for its fantastical musical scenes along with much acclaim given to Taron Egerton in his starring role as John.

"To be honest with you, I was blown away," John said at the time of Rocketman's theatrical release. "I was very moved. I cried the first time I saw it, and I cried a lot this time. ... I'm very, very proud of this movie."

The film has gone on to gross more than $180 million worldwide, one of many recent music movies to enjoy mass commercial success. Queen's 2018 biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, earned more than $900 million globally while also scoring four Academy Awards.

More recently, Yesterday, a fictional film based in a world that has forgotten the music of the Beatlescleared the $100 million box-office threshold.
