Let's face it, we all have great memories of our childhood Lego sets. But Lego isn't just for kids! I have a couple of bigger sets that I have assembled as a hobby and it's a great way to relax and have fun, and full disclosure, my office window shelf is full of Lego minifigures.
And Lego knows that it has adult fans, which is why the company has come out with some truly epic sets. Here are the ones on my wish list:
- 1
Ultimate Millennium Falcon
Come on...it's the Falcon! It's got 7,541 pieces and is almost 3 feet wide. I've seen it assembled in a store and the detail is amazing! So what if it's close to $800? In fact, I asked a clerk at a Lego Store if they have ever sold one, and he told me that they can't keep them in the store, as soon as they get one, it's sold, sometimes before it even hits the floor.
- 2
LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V
Lego came out with this beauty to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing, and it looks awesome. It's 3 feet high and much more affordable than the Falcon at $119.99.
- 3
LEGO Creator Expert James Bond Aston Martin DB5
Admit it, you started humming the James Bond theme. This 1,295-piece set comes with it's own cool gadgets! It has a a raisable bullet shield, working ejection seat and rotating license plate!
- 4
LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down
You can build the Byers’ house and The Upside Down from the Netflix series. You even get your own Demogorgon minifigure! This 2,297-piece set goes for $199.99.
- 5
LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle
You may have to fight your kids for this one, but it's worth it. This detailed model of Hogwarts castle is just plain HUGE, with 6,020 pieces and it comes with 4 minifigures, 27 microfigures, the Chamber of Secrets and a group of Dementors to fly around the castle. Sure, at $399.95 it's expensive, but when else are you going to get this close to Hogwarts?
