Traffic Stop in Farmingdale, Maine Leads to OUI Arrest, Major Drug Charges
A routine traffic stop in Farmingdale turned into a major drug bust, according to Maine State Police.
Authorities say the stop happened on April 6 after troopers pulled over a vehicle for a violation. During the stop, police determined the driver, 32-year-old Samantha Robinson of Augusta, showed signs of impairment.
Robinson was arrested at the scene and charged with operating under the influence.
Troopers also discovered that one of the passengers, 61-year-old Sheena Wright of Augusta, had an active warrant out for her arrest. She was taken into custody without incident.
A second passenger, 19-year-old Neveah Harris of New York City, is now facing serious drug trafficking charges. According to police, Harris was found with approximately 44.9 grams of crack cocaine and 8.8 grams of fentanyl.
Investigators say Harris was charged with unlawful trafficking of cocaine base, aggravated trafficking of fentanyl, and falsifying physical evidence.
Both Wright and Harris were transported to the Kennebec County Jail.
What started as a simple traffic stop quickly escalated into multiple arrests and significant drug charges, highlighting ongoing efforts by law enforcement to crack down on impaired driving and drug trafficking in central Maine.
