After six straight weeks of gas prices rising in Maine, there is no change in Maine this week. But the national average for the price of gas has dropped.

According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, gas prices stayed steady in the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine from last week, remaining at $2.406. The current National average for a gallon of gas is $2.343, which is down a little over 3 cents from last weeks average of $2.374.

Locally, the lowest price for gas we could find in Augusta is at the Irving store at 25 Western Avenue, which is selling gas for $2.36 a gallon, and in Waterville at Cumberland Farms on College Avenue, which is selling gas for $2.37 a gallon.
