Greg’s American Music Awards Picks

Sunday, it is the American Music Awards on ABC at 8pm. Do you ever try and pick who will win while watching award shows? Bet you do. Here are my picks, of course for entertainment purposes only. I’m just giving you my picks in the major pop categories.

Artist of Year: Justin Beiber, Drake, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

Tough category but in my educated guess, I’d say Maroon 5 wins. Adam Levine has been all over the radio. Levine has been a major force on TV as well on both with The Voice and his role on American Horror Story.

New Artist of the Year: J. Cole, Fun., Gotye, Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction

If we’re going by Grammy standards, I'd say, Fun. But we’re not; American Music Awards are by vote. Hands down, the winner will be One Direction.

Favorite Male Artist-Pop Rock: Justin Beiber, Flo Rida, Pitbull and Usher

The winner here is the Biebs. That is all.

Favorite Female Artist-Pop Rock: Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Rihanna

I believe it’s between Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. I have to choose one, so I’ll say Rihanna. Might go to Nicki Minaj, but I’m sticking with Rihanna. Secretly I want Katy Perry of course, but I don’t believe it’s her awards show this time.

Favorite Band, Duo or Group-Pop Rock: Fun., Maroon 5, One Direction and The Wanted

I think this is between Maroon 5 and One Direction. I’d like to see Maroon 5 win but because it’s by votes, going with One Direction to win.

Favorite Album-Pop Rock: Justin Bieber-Believe,  Maroon 5-Overexposed, Nicki Minaj-Pink Friday: Roman reloaded and One Direction-Up All Night

Tough call, I think it’s between ‘Believe’ from Justin Bieber and One Direction's ‘Up All Night’ in my opinion. My guess is by the vote tallies the winner will be ‘Up All Night.’

So there are my picks for Sunday. I can’t wait for the performances and the dresses. Did I just lose I my man card for saying that?
