Happy National Drive In Movie Day
The first drive-in theater was created by Richard M. Hollingshead Jr. of Camden, New Jersey and opened on June 6, 1933.
While they peaked a long time ago, and have been in decline for decades, there are still some drive in theaters around. Including several that are only an hour's drive away from most of Central Maine.
The Skowhegan Drive-In Theater
Prides Corner Drive-In
The Saco Drive-In
The Bridgton Twin Drive-In
If you've never been to a drive in theater, you need to make time to visit one this summer! Not only because it is a cool experience, but also because they are generally dirt cheap!
