According to WCSH, Utah's Mitt Romney is proposing a $12 per hour raise for all essential workers.  This would be an extra $12 per hour on top of what they are currently making.

The raise, intended to counteract the dangers they have faced in dealing with the coronavirus, would be in effect for three months.

He's calling it "Patriot Pay" and it would be in effect for May, June, and July.

Where would the money come from?  25% would come from the employer, while 75% would be paid for by the federal government.

Employees must work at least 100 hours per month to be eligible for the benefit.

It is not yet known if the Patriot Pay program would end up as part of Phase 4 of the stimulus package.
