Is Your Favorite Maine Beach Unsafe For Swimming?

According to WMTW, as many as 39 Maine beaches may be unsafe due to high contamination levels.

The report, which was done by Environment America Research & Policy Center and the Frontier Group, found that 39 of the 85 Maine beaches tested had unsafe levels of fecal matter and bacteria.

Some of the worst in Maine were Goose Rocks Beach Sites 5 and 1, Willard Beach, Ogunquit Beach, Kennebunk Beach, Lincolnville Beach, and Colony Beach.
