Have you ever come out of a pool with red eyes? According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention it’s not because of chlorine.

Dr. Michael J. Beach from CDC's Healthy Water program says “Chlorine binds with all the things it’s trying to kill from your bodies, and it forms these chemical irritants. That’s what’s stinging your eyes. It’s the chlorine binding to the urine and sweat.”

So yes, it is pee and sweat.

Complex.com says, the dye that’s supposed the change the color of water after someone urinates in the water doesn’t exist.

Beach also says about the supposed dye, "It's a myth. It's about scaring people into not urinating in the pool."

I bet you want to shower now. You’re welcome.
