Three men are facing charges after investigators say they burglarized and damaged ATMs in Augusta, Maine.

According to a press release from the Augusta Police Department's Chief Lully, the arrests were the result of a coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Those agencies included the Augusta Police Department, Department of Homeland Security, Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police, Richmond Police Department, and the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, the investigation began late Monday night, March 10. At around 11:00 PM, officers with the Augusta Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at Trademark Federal Credit Union on Edison Drive.

Just over an hour later, shortly after midnight on March 11, officers were called to another alarm at Connected Credit Union on Civic Center Drive. Police say the circumstances appeared similar to the earlier incident.

When officers arrived at the Civic Center Drive location, they encountered a dark-colored Toyota sedan leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was later located, and investigators identified the three men inside as Yorman Uzcategui, Rafael Mari-Pina, and Yorman Parra.

All three were arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief in connection with the damaged ATMs.

Police say evidence connected to the crimes was recovered during the arrests.

The three men were initially taken to the Kennebec County Jail and held on $20,000 cash bail each. However, authorities say they were later taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
