America’s Worst Ice Cream Brand is Sold in Maine
Folks from New England absolutely love their ice cream, and people in our Pine Tree State are certainly no exception.
In New England, ice cream is basically written into our DNA, with some of the most iconic ice cream brands in the world, like Ben & Jerry’s and Friendly’s, originating here.
And really, it should be no surprise that Mainers love their ice cream, because, duh, who doesn't love ice cream?
Whether it's a classic scoop of vanilla or a unique flavor like Maine blueberry or anything whoopie pie flavored, there's nothing quite like enjoying ice cream in Vacationland's summer months.
Because, let's face it, who’s really craving ice cream when it’s 20 below zero with two feet of snow outside? Well, even then, we’re still probably not turning down a bowl or two.
While, yes, we’ve established that Mainers love their ice cream, we have to ask, is there such a thing as the ‘worst’ ice cream?
There has to be, right? And, even if there is a definitive answer to that question, in a world where ice cream is universally adored, the ‘worst’ ice cream still has to be pretty good, doesn't it?
Well, the independent financial news and opinion website 24/7 Wall St. recently released an article listing the ‘8 Worst Ice Cream Brands in America,’ and believe it or not, several of these brands are sold right here in Maine.
But, what does it mean to be America’s worst ice cream brand? How do they even determine that?
24/7 Wall St. determined the 8 worst ice cream brands in America by consulting eight different food websites, blogs, and vlogs. Recognizing that ice cream preference is highly subjective, they used an aggregate scoring system to compile the list of brands that received unfavorable reviews from their sources.
But we’re not only focusing on the negatives today. Alongside identifying the worst brands, 24/7 Wall St. also found some very highly rated brands, such as Tillamook, Häagen-Dazs, and New England’s own Ben & Jerry’s.
So, what is the worst ice cream brand in America?
