Inaugural Maine Car Show Was a HUGE Success for Veterans
Jodi and Joe Brasslett, owners of Home Roofing Solutions, knew they wanted to do something BIG for their charity, The Marino Project, which helps give Maine military members access to the resources they need and most importantly, deserve.
How About Putting on a Maine Car Show for the First Time?
That's basically what the Brasslett's said while brainstorming the most effective events that would bring the community together to not only inform the public about The Marino Project, but also show our U.S. military members that their community is behind them by filling the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. All three of those goals were impressively accomplished and beyond.
The Car Show in Maine Was Appropriately Called Wheels for Warriors
First year for a car show and first attempt at a car show for these organizers and they surpassed all expectations! 142 classic, vintage and rare vehicles and motorcycles not only packed the inside of the Cross Insurance Center, but also OVERFILLED the outside parking lot. A strong message was sent by the Maine community on this Saturday in July, and that was very clearly, 'WE LOVE AND SUPPORT OUR MILITARY.'
How Much Was Raised by the Maine Community and What is the Future for This Car Show
Admission for both attendees and participants to Wheels for Warriors was by donation to The Marino Project only. There was also a silent auction with items all donated by gracious local businesses, a 50/50 raffle, and even the food trucks at the event donated a portion of their profits. It was a heartwarming event that brought in $30,345! Again, 100% of those funds go to The Marino Project and are used for our Maine military members. Goosebumps.
We are happy to announce that we will bring the car show back in 2025. Date to be determined! - Jodi Brasslett
