I used to love the idea of comic books.

Over the years, all over the world, comic and toy conventions have become almost a standard practice. There are several up and down the state, all year round. They're huge, well attended events that often feature celebrities from the world of comics, gaming, and movies. Plus, the toys...
Aroostook County is now getting in on the Comic-Con game...
Coming up the weekend of November 8th - 10th, Houlton will be hosting its first-ever Comic-Con. Much like other conventions, this one will have all the bells and whistles you're used to seeing. There will be gaming, workshops, discussion panels, authors, and a ton of other activities throughout the whole weekend.
Friday will feature all kinds of gaming. Everything from Dungeons & Dragons to Cards Against Humanity. Saturday will even feature a presentation from a psychologist, who will discuss how D&D is actually a useful therapy/educational tool. On Sunday, people will even be able to meet up at the Houlton Bridge for a Star Wars battle!
You'll definitely want advance tickets.
If there's only one drawback to this event, is that space will be limited. The location can only hold up to 150 people. People are definitely urged to get tickets ahead of time. Of course, there will also be food and other amenities on site, according to TheCounty.me. Tickets will range from $5 to $25, depending on what package you choose.
