Have you ever walked into restaurant craving your own personalized omelet or a big stack of pancakes only to find out you missed the breakfast cut off by five minutes? I feel like it's happened to the best of us. Portland is loaded with restaurant options and has at least ten places that are happy to serve you their breakfast menu until they close their doors for the day.

1. Friendly Toast. M-F 8am-3p / Sat & Sun 8am-4pm

Located on Franklin Street, in the old Sebago Brewing building, The Friendly Toast has been serving a gigantic menu of both breakfast and lunch items since they opened their Portland location a little over a year ago. If you're in a hurry, you might want to look at their menu before you go. There's a lot to choose from.

2. Becky's Diner. Daily 8am-9pm

A staple on Commercial Street and seen on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Becky's Diner, is open daily until 9pm. They are happy to get you a stack of pancakes during business hours.

3. Bayside American Cafe. Wed-Sun 7am-2pm

This Portland favorite will often have a wait time, especially in the summer and on the weekends, so plan accordingly. Bayside American Cafe has a breakfast and brunch menu that include the traditionals and their famous scrambles.

4. IHOP. Daily 6am-9pm

This one is a no-brainer, but in case IHOP happens to be one of those out of sight, out of mine spots for you, they are serving all things breakfast open to close everyday.

5. Salt Yard Cafe. Daily 7am-2pm

Serving up breakfast and brunch daily, Salt Yard Cafe on Commercial Street has their own take on traditional breakfast and brunch items, and serving up hand-crafted latte and house-made pastries.

6. Hot Suppa. Daily 8am-2pm

If you're looking for a yummy take on southern food, Hot Suppa's fried chicken & a waffle is a hard one to pass up. Their menu is quite extensive with both breakfast and lunch items. This is another one that could have a wait, especially on the weekends, so plan ahead.

7. Miss Portland Diner. Daily 7am-2pm

A vintage 1940 Worcester Diner Car, Miss Portland Diner has been sitting in its historic location on Marginal Way since 1964. A favorite of both locals and visitors, you're not going to be left wondering what to order. If you're hungry, you can't go wrong with the Bayside Breakfast: 2 eggs any style, homefries, choice of 2 slices of bacon or 2 sausage links, and 2 slices of French toast or 2 pancakes.

8. Ruski's. Daily 8a-11pm

A Portland staple on the West End, Ruski's has a great, affordable breakfast, and they're happy to serve it to you until they close at 11pm.

9. Rigby Yard. Mon-Fri 9am-4pm

Down on Wharf Street, Rigby Yard is serving up a unique twists on traditional breakfast items, as well as pastries and hand-crafted coffee and cocktails.

10. Other Side Diner. M-F 8am-1:30pm / Sat & Sun 8am-2:30

Located just off of Exit 8 on 295 North, Other Side Diner has all of the traditional breakfast menu items, and they do it right. They're happy to serve breakfast along with their lunch menu until closing.
