It's been a strange ride for the property at 77 Free Street in Portland, Maine, over the last two decades.

For much of that time, that address was home to one of the premiere sports bars in the state, Binga's Stadium.

People cherished Binga's as a place to pregame before events at the Cross Insurance Arena or as a place to congregate for a huge sports game on television or as a night out to dance or enjoy trivia.

In 2021, Binga's Stadium closed permanently. In its place, a restaurant and bar called Free Street opened and had a short run.

Now, the property at 77 Free Street is getting a full refresh with two businesses moving into the space.

Marijuanaville Portland will have massive square footage and promises to be a dispensary that is open 365 days a year. Yes, that means Christmas, too.

The old Binga's Stadium has been repainted with a jet black exterior and signage has gone up proclaiming the Marijuanaville superstore is coming soon.

Ubu's Sports Oub & Club to Open at 77 Free Street in Portland, Maine

The legacy of Binga's Stadium will live on in some form at 77 Free Street because part two of what's filling the space is Ubu's Sports Pub & Club.

There isn't much available information on what to expect at Ubu's other than it will be sports-centered and will feature beer based on its logo.

There is no grand opening date set for Marijuanaville and Ubu's Sports Pub & Club as of this writing.
