Downtown Augusta’s New Kennebec Room Finally Has an Opening Date
If you’ve been driving through downtown Augusta wondering when The Kennebec Room is finally going to open, we’ve got some good news.
The wait is just about over!
The Kennebec Room Is Ready to Welcome Augusta
The Kennebec Room and its upstairs counterpart, The Nightcap Lounge, are getting ready to welcome guests at 300 Water Street in downtown Augusta.
The new spot is taking over the former Riverfront Barbeque & Grille location, with The Kennebec Room downstairs and The Nightcap Lounge upstairs in the space many of us remember as The Gin Mill. We first told you about the plans for the new restaurant and cocktail lounge back in July.
Now, we finally know when people will get their first chance to check it out.
Soft Opening Dates Are Set
According to an Eventbrite listing from The Kennebec Room, soft opening nights are scheduled for Thursday, September 24, and Friday, September 25. Guests can choose staggered arrival times between 5 and 8 p.m.
The owners say these nights will give their new team a chance to get comfortable with the menu, systems and space before the official grand opening.
The Kennebec Room is being described as an upscale pub, while upstairs, The Nightcap Lounge will focus on craft cocktails.
Either way, after months of watching and waiting, it’s exciting to see another downtown Augusta space ready to come back to life.
