Updated ‘Kim Possible’ Theme Song Just as Lackluster as Live-Action Reboot Looks
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Disney's upcoming Kim Possible live-action reboot movie has been a hot topic on social media since it was announced nearly a year ago. Now, with the Disney Channel Original Movie set to premiere in February, Disney has released an updated version of the show's famous theme song, "Call me, Beep Me."
While singer and actress Christina Milian sang the original Kim Possible theme song, Disney enlisted Sadie Stanley, who plays the titular character in the new movie, to sing the 2019 version.
The melody and catchy lyrics remain the same, but this time Disney aimed to give the new take a more "modern dance pop arrangement," Steven Vincent, vice president of music and soundtracks at Disney Channel told Billboard. "We kept the integrity of the original song but make it sound like it was written today."
Despite the updated production, we have to be honest – We still prefer the early 2000s original. Sorry not sorry. #JusticeForChristinaMilian.
We're pretty down by this lackluster new take on the theme song, but we're not shocked by it. Last month fans had an overwhelmingly negative reaction when the trailer for the live-action reboot dropped.
