We have somehow made it to early December with no real winter weather.  Even though the weather patterns have changed quite a bit in the last few decades (compared to how we used to get early snow dumpings back in the 80s and 90s), by now we should have at least had a few moderate storms - even if the snow did not stick around long.

Well, it looks like that may be about to change.

According to WMTW, the conditions are right for us to potentially get hit with a Nor'Easter this Saturday. The storm will roll into Maine at around Noon on Saturday.  It will bring rain and high winds.  Overnight, as the temperatures drop, that rain will change to mixed precipitation and snow.

That is according to the "Euro" model.  However, according to the "GFS" model, the storm will track farther out in the Atlantic.  It will move into our area a lot later (overnight into Sunday).  Because of the track, it will drop some rain and snow on the coast, but leave Central Maine largely untouched.

Currently, the National Weather Service is calling for rain and snow on Saturday.  They are saying it will change to snow throughout the overnight.  The snow will roll out of our area by early afternoon on Sunday.

We'll keep an eye on this story as it develops.
