There’s a post circulating on the Lewiston Rocks Facebook page, and this has to be shared with the world. The post has stopped so many in their tracks. The post came from the crew over at Kaydenz Kitchen Food Pantry, shared yesterday.

While the crew at Kaydenz were doing their thing, a man came in and nicely asked if he could record something outside.

Why? He had lost his son in the mass shooting that took place in October of 2023 in Lewiston, Maine.

As per the post, yesterday was his son’s birthday. The crew said, of course, told him to take the space and do what he needed.

But he then asked if it would be okay if he recorded inside?

Something stood out about this moment, a dad singing under the Schemengees sign, on his boy’s birthday, in a space that’s held so much grief and so much hope and it feels like maybe a bit of closure came.

Like connection. Like life coming full circle.

If that doesn’t give you chills… I don’t know what will.
