Maine Lobsterman Discovers Body Floating In The Ocean
On Monday morning, a Maine lobsterman made a shocking discovery off the coast of Addison.
According to the KJ, the lobsterman, presumably checking their traps, found a body floating in the ocean. The article explains that Maine Department of Marine Resources spokesperson Jeff Nichols said the body was found at about seven miles from Petit Manan Island. He explained that the body was recovered at about 9:30 AM on Monday.
The body was found in the same area where 18 year old lobsterman Tylar Michaud went missing last month.
Even though he was young, friends and family say he was an experienced lobsterman. His hope was to use the money he made lobstering to pay for his education at Maine Maritime Academy. He was supposed to attend the college this fall. However, on July 21st, he failed to return to port. Searchers found his boat, but there was no sign of him.
It was just last weekend that dozens of boats took place in a traditional wreathe laying ceremony to honor the life of a man gone far too soon.
However, authorities would not confirm that the body was definitely that of Michaud.
The body has been taken to the medical examiner's office in Augusta, where a medical examiner will make a positive identification.
