Central Maine Man Shoots Person Attempting to Break Down His Door
It's something that we all have to think about way more than we used to 'back in the day'. Even though we statistically live in one of the safest states in the country, the threat of home invasions, especially with the rapid influx in the drug epidemic, looms larger than ever.
For me, I have never had the misfortune of being the target of a home invasion, but then again, I always leave our super-bright-white outside lights on that surround the house each and every night.
Additionally, about two years ago during Amazon Prime Deal Days, I purchased a 10 pack of the Blink motion-activated cameras and put them up all over the place. As a matter of fact, some of my cameras overlap each other in their coverage because I bought too many- but that's a story for another time.
According to the Maine State Police and the Kennebec Journal, an incident unfolded Monday night in the small town of Pittston, Maine. According to police, an unidentified Maine man was at his home on Palmer Road when someone allegedly began trying to break the man's front door down.
Fearing an attack, the homeowner then shot the would-be invader and stopped him in his tracks. Police and fire personnel responded to the 41 Palmer Road home and transported the suspect to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Police say though his injuries are serious, he is expected to live.
Maine State Police released a statement indicating an investigation was still ongoing, however, there is no continued threat to the public.
Neither man has been identified as of Wednesday morning.
