Officials in Maine are seeking help from the public in locating a young teen girl they say was reported missing.

According to an article that was originally published by WGME 13, police in Bangor, Maine are looking for assistance in locating 15-year-old, Savannah Cookson.

Police tell the news station that Cookson, 15, left her Bangor home on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Police believe that the teen is likely still in the Bangor / Brewer area, though they can't 100% confirm.

Bangor Police went on to explain about the missing girl that she is about five feet seven inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. Savannah Cookson is reported to have brown hair and blue eyes.

At this time, officials with the Bangor Police Department are asking anyone who may know where Cookson is, or who may have seen her recently, to please reach out to the Bangor Police Department by calling 207.947.7384.

If you do call the Bangor Police Department, you are asked to request to speak with Detective Robert Hallett. You can reach Hallett by dialing extension 5755 when prompted to do so by the phone system.

At this time, Cookson has been missing for about five days. Police and her family are asking Mainers to keep their eyes peeled for possible sightings of Savannah while the police also work to determine her current location and get her reunited with her family.
