MAINE WEDDINGS: This Will Be The Biggest Wedding Song of 2021
Let me just say that this is pure speculation and there is no way to actually predict the future. However, I feel like I'm able to make a pretty educated guess on this one. I have played more than 400 weddings here in Maine and I've always had a knack for identifying songs that are going to be big contenders for the 'first dance' portion of the big day.
Remember when Sheeran's 'Perfect' came out? That song was played as the first dance at almost EVERY SINGLE wedding that I did. In fact, that song is still used as the first dance in lots of the weddings that I perform at. Oh, I suppose now would be a good time to mention that I own and operate Matt James Entertainment, so weddings are kind of my thing.
Earlier this morning at about 6 AM, ol' Eddie boy dropped another (what I think is going to be) smash record. The song is called 'Afterglow' and it encompasses everything we love about Ed Sheeran. The intricate guitar playing, the subtle harmonies, the amazing melodies and of course the incredible lyrics. This song has it all.
Below you'll find the 'official performance' video of the song as well as the lyrics to it. Make sure you let us know what you think of this record by sending us a message through our Facebook Page or the free 92 Moose app.
A million colours of hazel, golden and red
Saturday morning is fading
The sun's reflected by the coffee in your hand
My eyes are caught in your gaze all over again
Trying to find ourselves in the winter snow
So alone in love like the world had disappeared
Oh, I won't be silent and I won't let go
I will hold on tighter 'til the afterglow
And we'll burn so bright 'til the darkness softly clears
Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
The weather outside's changing
The leaves are buried under six inches of white
The radio is playing Iron & Wine
This is a new dimension
This is a level where we're losing track of time
I'm holding nothing against it, except you and I
[Pre-Chorus]
We were love drunk, waiting on a miracle
Trying to find ourselves in the winter snow
So alone in love like the world had disappeared
Oh, I won't be silent and I won't let go
I will hold on tighter 'til the afterglow
And we'll burn so bright 'til the darkness softly clears
[Chorus]
Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
