McDonald’s Rolling Out Three New Chicken Sandwiches
According to Boston's Channel 7 and CNN, McDonald's is about the make the next move in the on-going "chicken war".
The king of fast food restaurants (okay, maybe that was a poor choice of words) plans to roll out three new chicken sandwiches in the next few weeks.
The Crispy Chicken Sandwich, which is topped with pickles and served on a potato roll, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich adds a spicy pepper sauce, and the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich, which comes with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo.
All three will be available nationally on February 24th.
While McDonald's, like most other fast food restaurants, started as places that sold nothing but hamburgers. Since the 1980s, however, most have added some kind of chicken offering to their menus. There's a good reason for that, too. McDonald's research has found that, globally, the market for chicken products is twice the size of the beef market. And, it is growing.
In a November call with investors, McDonald's executives seemed to indicate these new chicken sandwiches were just the start and that there would be more to come.
