Officers from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Maine State Police made several arrests today (April 28) in connection with an investigation into the interstate trafficking of heroin and cocaine in greater Rumford-Mexico.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, police and MDEA agents executed search warrants at homes at 93 and 107 Chase Ave. in Mexico. As a result of those searches, McCausland said agents seized drugs with a street value of about $13,000, drug trafficking paraphernalia and $950 in cash. McCausland said that heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine that slated for resale in the local area was taken in the raid.

McCausland said the following people were arrested in the raid:

Jerry Philogene, 26, of Boston, Mass., charged with

  • -Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Heroin)
  • -Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Cocaine)
  • - Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class B (Cocaine Base)
  • -Warrant Theft by unauthorized use of property
  • -Warrant OAS
  • -Warrant Violation of Condition of Release

Peguy Pacouloute, 27, of Mattapan, Mass., charged with

  • -Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Heroin)
  • -Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Cocaine)
  • -Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class B (Cocaine Base)
  • -Warrant Theft by unauthorized use of property
  • -Warrant Violation of Condition of Release

Derrell E. “Slim” Weathers, 28, of Boston, Mass., charged with

  • Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Heroin)

Travis Tidswell, 41, of Mexico, Maine, charged with

  • -Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Heroin)
  • -Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Cocaine)
  • -Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class B (Cocaine Base)

Joshua “Tiny” Campbell, 30, of Mexico, Maine, charged with

  • -Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Heroin)

Glen Lane, 32, of Mexico, Maine, charged with

  • -Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drug Class A (Heroin)

McCausland said the six men were transported to the Oxford County Jail.  Philogene, Pacouloute, Tidswell are being held without bail.  Bail has been set at $40,000 cash for Weathers, $15,000 cash for Lane, and $15,000 cash for Campbell.  All are expected in court Monday, according to McCausland.

Also taking part in the operation were law enforcement personnel from State Police, Mexico Police Department, Rumford Police Department, Oxford County Sheriff’s Department and US Border Patrol, McCausland said.
