Check Your Numbers: $1 Million Ticket Sold in Gorham, Maine
Alright, Powerball fans, this is your reminder to double-check those tickets! Maine Lottery says a $1 million winning ticket was sold right here in our state, at the Cumberland Farms on Main Street in Gorham. So, if that’s your go-to stop for gas and coffee, it might also have been your lucky stop for a whole lot of cash.
Now, here’s the catch. As exciting as that million-dollar win is, nobody snagged the big jackpot on Saturday night. And when that happens, you know what it means…the prize just keeps on growing. According to WGME 13, the Powerball jackpot is now sitting at a whopping $750 million, with a cash option of about $338 million.
The next drawing is happening Monday night, so you’ve still got time to grab a ticket. And hey, even if you don’t hit the jackpot, remember somebody here in Maine is waking up today a millionaire just from playing. Not a bad way to start the week!
And with the Windsor Fair in full swing, think about how much fun you could have there after a Powerball win. I mean seriously, you wouldn't have to budget your 'fair food' money and could just buy as much as you wanted.
I would end up with a Rolls Royce full of freshly-popped Maine Kettle Corn. Okay, I've talked myself into buying a couple of tickets on my way home from work later today. I'll get back to you and see how this plan all works out in the end.
