We've got some great news for people in Central Maine who really love the chain - we are just weeks away from a new Olive Garden location opening.

According to WGME, the management of the new Olive Garden, located on Turner Street in Auburn, plan to open on May 22nd.  That may change, though.  The hope is that they may be able to open even sooner.

The article explains that the city reportedly approved the restaurant's licenses last week.

An attorney for the chain's Auburn location said, in part:

I know everybody’s been really excited to see this restaurant come to Auburn. There’s a big team working behind the scenes to make everything happen and try to get this restaurant open as soon as possible. Right now, we’re looking at the end of May, but things may move faster

The popular chain, which is known for being a great place to take the family for dinner or to take your special someone on a date, also has locations in Bangor, Augusta, and South Portland.

While many connoisseurs of "true" Italian food are very vocal about their dislike of the Olive Garden chain, there really is no denying that the chain serves up big portions of good food.  And, you know exactly what you are going to get.  Their chicken gnocchi soup and chicken parm is the same whether you get it in Augusta, Maine or Erie, Pennsylvania.
