There is no doubt that the lockdowns and "quarantines" caused by the coronavirus pandemic have caused a lot of stress for most of us.  Some of those most-affected have been the residents of long-term care facilities.

In many cases, those in nursing homes have been separated from their loved ones for the better part of a year.  Those that are allowing visitation have implemented significant restrictions.  For example: all visitations must be outside, six feet distancing must be maintained, and masks must be worn during the entire visit.  Clearly, as the elderly are the group that has been most affected by the pandemic, it only makes sense to be extremely careful with these visits.  Yes, there could be places with fewer restrictions, but these are the safety procedures that I have been told are in place at many homes.

In an attempt to keep their residents entertained, some facilities have decided to get creative with their special events.

For example, the Wesley House Assisted Living Facility in Hillsboro, Texas decided to gift their residents with booze and tats!  No, seriously!

Last Friday (August 14th), the staff treated grandma and grandpa to beer and win.  In Addition, they hooked them up with temporary tattoos!

This quarantine has got us going wild! Had a few drinks and got tattoos!

I hope that other long-term care facilities are treating their residents to this kind of fun.
