It was a very weird day to be in Maine. We had record setting heat and a minor earthquake. Are we in Oakland, Maine or Oakland California? Which coast do we live on again?

If you felt a little rumble earlier along Maine’s mid-coast it might have been an 18 wheeler roll along Route 1 or you could have felt an earthquake? The National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado said at 1:19 pm this afternoon there was a magnitude 2.4 earthquake centered about 18 miles southeast of Brunswick. It was felt as far as Wiscasset and Bath. There are no reports of damage or injuries.  Over the past few months there have been a couple of quakes including the 4.2 magnitude event in October.

Now for the weather, you couldn't have asked for a better January day if you dislike the cold. Records around the state were broken including the high temperature in Portland, where it reached 59 degrees.
