One Dead In Multi-Vehicle Accident On Eastern Ave In Augusta

According to a press release from the Augusta Police Department, one person has passed away following a multi-vehicle accident on Eastern Avenue (Route 17) in Augusta.

The accident, which involved three vehicles, occurred just before 5 PM on Monday (January 6th).

Most the people involved had only minor injuries.  However, 77 year old William Ames of Jefferson, had to be transported to the Alfond Center For Health.  Ames later succumbed to his injuries.

APD is still investigating the accident, but it appears the weather conditions did come into play.
