The Old Orchard Beach Police Department responded to reports of an apparent drive-by shooting Sunday night on Union Avenue.

According to WMTW, nearby residents said they heard "at least one gunshot" around 7:30 pm last night. Officers shut the surrounding area down to investigate. According to OOB Police Captain David Hemingway, the shots were believed to have come from a car travelling towards the beach. An investigation turned up several shell casings in the area. No injuries were reported and police say the vehicle allegedly involved was a silver or light-colored sedan.
