Can you believe it is already that time of the year again?

Time for cocoa, caroling, decorating, gift giving and being with the ones we love the most.

Thankfully, at least for the city of Waterville and unlike some of you yahoos out there, they are waiting until AFTER Thanksgiving to fire up the holiday lights and start singing Jingle Bells at the top of their lungs.

However, if you are one of these people who begins decorating as soon as the last piece of candy is handed out in your neighborhood on Halloween, we're not judging at all. You do you, baby boo.

Anyway, back to my original point here. Waterville, Maine, is once again gearing up for its fun and festive holiday events featuring the Parade of Lights and Castonguay Square's Kringleville.

According to an article published by the Kennebec Journal, The Children's Discovery Museum has teamed up with the city of Waterville to help put on this year's festive events.

The kickoff to the season will happen on Saturday evening after plenty of digestion time for that hearty Thanksgiving meal. The Parade of Lights will begin at 6 pm on Saturday, November 30, and travel from College Ave down Main Street and past Castonguay Square.

The end of the parade will also signal the opening of Santa's Kringleville in downtown Waterville. Kids will have many opportunities throughout December to meet, visit and sit with Santa himself!

As part of the festivities, children can write letters to Santa Claus and either drop them off at the mailbox outside his cabin at Kringleville or send them through the U.S. Post Office in Waterville. Santa will respond with a letter, provided the child's return address is included.

Amarinda Keys, Executive Director of The Children's Discovery Museum, told the Kennebec Journal in part,

“We are so thankful for the ever-growing committee of folks stepping up to help make the holiday season so magical for families. I absolutely love being a part of these events. I’m proud to help bring joy and wonder to central Maine.”
