Portland, Maine’s “Not A Bakery” is Actually the Sweetest New Spot Ever
This one’s for all of our Maine foodies. I’ve got a new food trailer that you absolutely have to put on your radar.
This place is called, Not A Bakery, which is so funny because it absolutely is baking up some seriously amazing goodies for us all!
According to the Portland Press Herald, this mysterious, cool new food trailer is the brainchild of Georgia Macon who is the Executive Pastry Chef at Portland’s Twelve restaurant.
Maybe you have already heard of this fancy spot on the waterfront, but now you can get a bite of that top level food without spending all of your money!
Meet Not A Bakery: Portland’s Playful New Food Trailer Serving Up Gourmet Pastries
As per the article, Not A Bakery is parked right near Twelve and will be offering a rotating menu of incredible dishes like buttery croissants, cookies, brownies, and pastries that honestly belong in a Parisian café. Yum.
The spot was created to have something more accessible and playful and I am simply obsessed with the name, as per the article.
This newest Portland business has this adorable little backstory. It all started as a wholesale operation in a commissary kitchen in Scarborough. But Georgia and the other talented bakers at Prentice wanted to sell their pastries directly to customers.
So, they figured they would find an old trailer, give it a fresh paint job, fix it up, and said “Why not create a pastry case on wheels?” And that’s exactly what they did!
