Ra Vee, who is the admin for a Facebook group called Weird, Fantastic & Beautiful Everything, shared a story involving Andy Grammer on Hampton Beach, and it warmed my heart.

It turns out it happened a few years ago, but that doesn't make it any less profound!

Pop star Andy Grammer was in town for a concert and enjoying breakfast at a restaurant on Hampton Beach. He noticed five elderly ladies enjoying their breakfast, and a wave of grief washed over him. It made him miss his mom.

Andy lost his mom to breast cancer when he was 25 years old, and they had a really special relationship.

He wanted to do something nice for these women, so he picked up the tab for their breakfast and started to leave. He didn't do this good deed for acknowledgement, and didn't want to make a big fuss. But a voice inside his head told him to go over and talk to them and tell them that he missed his mom. Maybe that would be something they wanted to hear.

He went over to their table and said:

“You are five of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever seen, I lost my mom a while back, and something about seeing you made me miss her this morning, so I’m getting your check."

A lady at the end of the table said:

“COME HERE, I lost my son and really needed this.”

The woman gave Andy the mom hug he needed, and she gave him the son hug he needed.

Is that not the most beautiful thing you've ever heard? Andy noted this moment as a reminder of how connected we all are.
