Townsquare Media Augusta has been made aware by parents of students at Gardiner Area High School that the school has entered a 'Soft lockdown' as of Tuesday morning.
As of right now, details are limited as we work to identify the cause of the lockdown. Currently the only details we have are limited and have come from parents that have students inside school. One of the students inside the high school, who will remain unidentified, has communicated to us that an apparent 'threat' had been 'called in' to the school.
We can also confirm that Gardiner Regional Middle School is in a 'soft lockdown' because of the nearby high school being in lockdown. This information was provided by a teacher on site of GRMS.
We will work to keep this story updated as more information becomes available to us.
