Sam’s Club Augusta, Maine to Host Weekend Fundraiser For Children’s Miracle Network
As you probably already know, Sam's Club holds a very special place in our hearts here at the radio station.
For the last several years, Rodney and his wonderful team as Sam's Club in Augusta, Maine, have hosted our massive food drive 'Camp Out Hunger'. And, in case you didn't know, this food drive is a massive undertaking in which we take up about 1/10 of their large parking lot for five days.
The food drive has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in non-perishable food for local families over the years and we could never have pulled any of this off without the commitment of the Augusta Sam's Club. They rock!
However, Sam's Club commitment to community doesn't stop with Camp Out Hunger. Each year the store hosts a large-scale fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network and the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital.
The fundraiser is going to be help this Saturday, July 6th, at Sam's Club at the Market Place @ Augusta from 12n to 4p. The carnival and craft fair will feature a wide array of crafters, games for kids (and adults!) as well as plenty of delicious food to enjoy.
And you're probably already planning on going out Saturday to grab some groceries, so why not make an afternoon of it and help support a very worth-while cause? A little two birds one stone action if you will.
According to the Children's Miracle Network website,
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals was founded more than 40 years ago with the vision to Change Kids’ Health, Change the Future. We’ve raised over $9 billion for 170 children’s hospitals by empowering and engaging with local communities and businesses.
