According to WABI, officials are investigating a Monday night fire in Unity.

Firefighters got the call for the fire, at the Unity United Methodist Church on Depot Street, at about 6 PM.

Officials believe the fire began in the basement of the church.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire.  There is significant damage to the inside of the church, but firefighters were able to save the church's 150 year old Bible with only minor water damage.

According to Wikipedia, Unity is a small town in Waldo County with a current population of just over 2,000.  It is best known for being the location of Unity College and the Common Ground Fair.
