Tammy Ranger, a reading intervention teacher at Skowhegan Area Middle School, has been given Maine's top teaching honor.

According to the KJ, Ranger has been named the Maine Teacher Of The Year for 2017.  The announcement was made during a surprise school assembly this morning (Thursday, October 13th).  In attendance were hundreds of students and faculty including the school's principal, the Maine School Administrative District 54 Superintendent, and Maine Department of Education Deputy Commissioner William Beardsley

Ranger was also the 2016 Somerset County Teacher Of The Year.
