Stockton Springs Woman Convicted of Murdering 10-Year-Old Daughter
According to reports from WMTW, a Stockton Springs woman has been convicted of murder in connection with the death of her 10-year-old daughter last year.
The report said Sharon Carrillo faces 25 years to life in prison for the murder of her daughter, Marissa Kennedy last February. Her husband, Julio Carrillo, pleaded guilty to murdering the girl in an earlier trial and is now serving 55 years in prison.
According to the Associated Press, the defense said Sharon Carrillo was also a victim of abuse and that her estranged husband inflicted the fatal injuries on Marissa Kennedy.
The jurors deliberated for a few hours before returning the guilty report, WMTW said.
According to the report, Carrillo is facing a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
