Summer Road Trippin’ – Sail On One Of The Oldest Ships In America
According to Only In Your State, you can take a sailing cruise on one of the oldest schooners in the United States, the Stephen Taber.
Built in 1871, she is a National Historic Landmark.
Based in Rockland, the windjammer takes passengers on cruises that can last up to a week. As the vessel is powered by wind, every cruise is different. It all depends on which way the wind is blowing (literally!). Regardless, the vessel takes passengers on a scenic cruise up and down the state's rugged coast.
If you are a foodie, you'll love the fact that every meal on board is like a feast! Prepared by amazing chefs, most meals feature native Maine foods.. There's also a wine tasting each evening.
TV personality Rachel Ray visited the ship a few years ago.
