Summer Road Trips: Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
If you're looking for a relaxing way to spend a summer afternoon, there is not better way than by strolling through the Coastal Botanical Gardens in Boothbay.
According to their website, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens now encompass nearly 300 acres of tidal shore land and they welcome an average of 100,000 guests each year.
In addition to flowers, the gardens feature art, exhibits, and sculptures.

The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are a short drive from most of Central Maine
With planning that began in 1991, it took 16 years for the project to come to fruition (no pun intended). The gardens officially opened in June of 2007. They are definitely worth a visit!
