Heating oil

I feel like a million jokes could be made about the cost of oil this year. Otherwise the ongoing price of heating oil will make you cry.

In a move not being taken well by some customers, Downeast Energy has added a new fee called 'Hazmat Delivery Fee' to it's charges when delivering heating fuel.

The Energy Department said earlier this week that the cost to heat our homes this winter will be sharply higher than last winter.

A Maine government survey shows the state’s heating prices are continuing to slide downward. The Governor’s Energy Office said Thursday that the latest survey put the average statewide price at $2.08 a gallon.

The question is have you turned on your heat yet? Up until now I had been stubborn and have not. This morning we woke up to an inside temperature of 55 degrees. We had been using a space heater in the living room in the morning and evening to take the chill away for a few days now but it's time to turn on the furnace.

The price of gas had a fairly hefty jump in price this week and now I see the average cost of home heating oil is up too. Maine energy officials say the average cash price for heating oil is up 2 cents to $3.76 a gallon.

It's days like these that make me wonder why we decided to buy a house when renting was so much easier. I write this as I patiently wait for Ness Oil to come by and basically fill the oil tank.
