Teen Sentenced to 33 Years for Killing Mother in Litchfield
16-year old Lukas Mironovas has been sentenced to 33 years behind bars as part of a plea deal in the murder of his mother, Kimberly Mironovas. As part of the plea deal, he waived his right to be tried as a juvenile and pleaded guilty to the murder. The killing happened in April of 2018.
According to court documents, he is one of three teens involved in the killing. The cause of Kimberly's death was reportedly a combination of strangulation and repeated stab wounds to the neck. Lukas had been upset over missing marijuana and that his mother had refused to drive him and his friends back to Massachusetts.
Two other teens that were involved have also been sentenced. William Smith, 17, was sentenced to 28 years last month. An unnamed teen, who was 13 at the time, will remain in juvenile detention until he is 21.
