I'm not really sure if there is a real news story here or not but I'll put it out there to keep parents in the loop. Some young people are using Burt's Bees lip balm on their eyelids to add to the experience of getting drunk or high.

Is much ado about nothing or cause for alarm? Apparently people get a tingling sensation after applying it to their eyelids and accents the buzz. According to the Doctor in the article the effect is caused from the peppermint.

This story kind of reminds me of the tales that went around when we were younger at like 21. One theory was supposedly drinking beer through a straw got you more drunk. Another thing we used to do is go out and drink after giving blood.

It seems to me the bigger issue here is teen drinking and not using Burt's Bees as eye shadow. Call me old fashioned but last I checked the legal age for buying alcohol was 21 and Burt's Bees isn't an age restricted product.
