It’s that time of year again, time to hit your favorite office supply store or discount retailer and buy school supplies.

This morning my wife and I went through the list of things our son needs going into middle school and surprisingly it’s very little. And a lot of the stuff we have from previous years.

I think all we need to buy is lined paper, a day planner, highlighters, a few mechanical pencils (our choice) a 2” binder and a file separating thing which we’ll let him pick out for personality and cool factor, but other than that we have much of what he needs from previous years.

My question is, do you go with all new supplies or do you reuse things from the past year? Obviously you need new paper and other non-reusuable items but if something is in good condition, do you use it again?

Our school doesn’t request communal supplies like some school boards do, in that case do you overbuy for the classroom?

We’ll be out Friday morning doing some school supply shopping, how about you?
