Back on this day, October 17, 1989 (25 years ago) was the earthquake in the San Francisco area which caused havoc during the World Series.

Oddly the teams playing in that edition of the Fall Classic were the two bay area teams named 'The Battle of the Bay'. The earthquake happened during game 3 at Candlestick Park as the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A’s just after 5 pm.

That’s how I remember the earthquake but I bet locals were much more concerned about loved ones and their way of as the earthquake took 67 lives and injured 3000.

I vividly remember seeing overpasses and roads mangled and the devastation throughout the city on TV.

It’s a historic day in baseball and for those who were in Northern California on this day back in 1989.
