Living in New England, we know that we're lucky to live in one of the best parts of the US.

Over the years, countless studies have directed praise toward our region. In 2023, a WalletHub study announced the best small cities in the country, and eight New England towns made the list.

The area has also been highlighted for having some of the most magical winter wonderland towns, underrated destinationshottest zip codesbest places to visit, and more.

But let's zoom in a little to which communities in New Hampshire have the best downtowns.

A charming downtown is a walkable, clean place filled with history, character, and lots of shopping and dining options.

The definition of the perfect downtown is obviously subjective, and differs for everyone. You might live in the same town you grew up in, and therefore have a soft spot for your home turf. Maybe your dream downtown is in a big city, or has a certain number of restaurants, entertainment options, etc. On the flip side of that, you may not care about your community's downtown at all, as long as you're in close proximity to an alternate spot you prefer visiting instead.

Regardless, we decided to take to Facebook to ask for your thoughts and received all kinds of suggestions.

So, here's a countdown of the 10 New Hampshire cities with the best downtowns, according to locals. Is yours featured?
