You're looking for more than just dinner out with that special someone?  You're looking for a real experience?  Something you are going to remember for years to come?  In that case, a drive to have dinner at Aragosta at Goose Cove is definitely worth the trip.

Located on Deer Isle, Maine, Aragosta is more than just a restaurant, it really is an experience.

The restaurant features gourmet farm (and ocean) to table cuisine that is unlike you've probably had before.  Like most farm-to-table restaurants, the menu is constantly changing, but the sample menu listed on their website includes dishes like lobster, scallops, halibut, and Wagyu beef.

Their staff is skilled at pairing the perfect wine with any meal on their menu and, if you like a pre-dinner cocktail, their mixologists are experts at mixing up unique cocktails (both sweet and savory).  Some of the signature cocktails from the sample menu include the Everything Nice (rye, chartreuse, oleo saccharum, ginger, house bitters), Born Under Punches (shiitake vodka, tomato, miso, bird’s eye chili, lemon, whey) is clearly a more savory cocktail, and their take on the classic martini (monkey 47, gonzalez byass, aragosta salt).

And, like many similar restaurants, it is important to remember that establishment sits people in seatings.  According to their website, the current seating times are 5 PM or 8:15 PM.

As I mentioned before, a meal here is all about the experience.  While it does pay homage to the Maine coast, the restaurant's style has a very modern feel.  it is like something you'd see in New York or Los Angeles.  The deck, and the dining room's bay windows, offer amazing views of the ocean.  There's also a nearby beach where you can take a stroll with that special someone.

And, if you are traveling from Central Maine or Southern Maine, they have lodging options.  You could make an entire weekend of it.

As was mentioned in the title, the restaurant is kind of remote.  Located on an actual island (that is, fortunately, accessible by road), it is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from most of Central Maine.  Clearly, it is an even longer drive if you are coming from Southern or Northern Maine.

While we are not entirely sure on the details, in the past, the restaurant has been available for private events.
