Two Maine Cities Ranked Among Safest In The Nation

Two Maine cities are on a list of the safest in the United States.

According to Wallet Hub, Portland is the 9th safest city in the country and, even more impressive, Lewiston is the 7th safest city in the country.

When compiling the list, they looked at home and community safety, financial safety and natural disaster risk to determine the rankings.

Overall, New England did very well.  South Burlington, Vermont, was the second-safest place to live and Nashua, New Hampshire, was named the country's safest city.
